“For the Love of Country” is a media programme that aims at the engagement of developmental conversations and re-orientation to generate actionable steps that will catalyse Nigeria’s development.

FLOC 2026 focuses on “Building a Prosperous Future: Re-Engineering Education and Driving Industrialization for Innovation, Productivity and Jobs.”

The symposium connects education, skills, industry, productivity and jobs as part of a broader conversation about Nigeria’s prosperity and future.

FLOC Symposium 5.0 will hold on Saturday, 3rd October 2026 in Ogun State, Nigeria.

The 2026 theme note positions education as a foundation for capability and productivity. It examines how education and skills can better connect with labour-market needs, industry and the future of work.

The central progression is: Education → Skills → Industry → Productivity → Jobs.

The symposium examines industrialization as a jobs and productivity engine, alongside infrastructure, innovation, technology, research commercialization, workforce development and institutional reform.

FLOC is designed for decision-makers over spectators, builders over commentators, and implementers over observers.

The target audience includes government and public-sector leaders; private-sector and industry leaders; education and skills-sector leaders; workforce, labour and human-capital stakeholders; development partners and institutional actors; youth, innovation and future-of-work leaders; and media, thought leaders and public intellectuals.

The 2026 theme note identifies twelve key discussion areas, including re-engineering education, TVET, education–industry alignment, industrialization, infrastructure, policy and institutional reform, innovation and research commercialization, workforce development, youth and inclusive growth, values and leadership, and moving from dialogue to action.

The expected outcomes centre on stronger alignment between education and industry, practical policy and institutional conversations, stronger pathways from skills to work, and a post-symposium roadmap that can support implementation.

FEICA is the FLOC–Ogun Education–Industry Capability Accelerator, the post-symposium implementation commitment outlined for FLOC 2026.

It is intended to help map industrial skill demand, align curricula, strengthen apprenticeships and school-to-work pipelines, support innovation and productivity hubs, and develop an annual Education–Industry Capability Index.

The theme note highlights Ogun’s industrial concentration, manufacturing and agro-processing clusters, proximity to Lagos and corridor infrastructure, and the presence of universities, polytechnics and technical institutions.

The choice of Ogun connects the symposium’s education–industry conversation to a production-led growth environment.
